Dear fellow fitness and food bloggers,
Have you ever noticed that when you’re making an intentional effort to eat healthy and exercise regularly a lot of your friends and family members get excited about it too? I have. Everyone chimes in on facebook with words of encouragement; all your loved ones are rooting for you. Why do you think that is? It might be because A. they like seeing a happier and more confident you as a result of your healthy lifestyle. Or maybe it’s because B. they would rather be seen in public with this new, hotter version of you (you have shitty friends in this case). OR It could be C. because they see something in you that inspires them to want to be better too. In all actuality, it’s probably some interesting combination of all three, but I like to think it’s mostly reasons A and C.
As you may have noticed, I took a step back from blogging for a while, and in my absence, a lot of other people decided to join in. Reading some of my friends’ new blogs is what inspired me to return to the scene (shout out to my girl Michelle Hiskey; the bitch be GETTIN IT). The fun thing is, we bloggers (and weight loss bloggers in particular) have our own little community. We inspire, motivate and even compete with each other. For example, seeing that Michelle did a new post, and reading about what successes (or struggles) she’s having makes me want to help her by encouraging her while also leading by example.
You know what they say: you should surround yourself by friends who are better than you, because that will make you work harder on self improvement. Well, I want us BOTH to be better so we can continue pushing each other, and pushing ourselves. IT’S A GREAT THING.
Bring it on bitches.
